Description

metal-stack is an open-source Metal as a Service (MaaS) platform that transforms on-premises hardware into elastic cloud infrastructure. It manages the lifecycle of hundreds to thousands of bare-metal servers in data centers, enabling users to operate their own cloud independently from hyperscalers. The platform provides native hardware performance, physical tenant isolation for security, and integrates with Kubernetes via SAP Gardener for scalable managed clusters. It features BGP networking with routing-to-the-host and load balancing, and supports rapid server provisioning within minutes. Designed for large deployments, it also offers a mini-lab for local testing and demo purposes.
