openDCIM is a free, web-based Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) application designed to replace spreadsheets and word processing documents for data center inventory tracking. It offers comprehensive physical inventory management, supporting multiple rooms and data centers. The application manages space, power, and cooling capacity, integrates with existing business directories for contact management, and simulates power outages to assess impact. Additional features include center of gravity calculations for cabinets, device templating, cable connection tracking, equipment archival, and integration with intelligent power strips and UPS devices from various manufacturers. Its open architecture, built on a MySQL database, allows for easy report building and export to other applications.
