Description

Scaleway Private Networks is a managed service providing secure, isolated layer-2 Ethernet networks (VLANs) within Scaleway's Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). It allows users to connect their Scaleway resources, such as instances, databases, and Kubernetes clusters, into private, high-bandwidth networks, enhancing security and reliability. The service supports multiple private networks per instance and offers features like managed DHCP and QinQ (for instances). It is designed for high availability and scalability, distributing resources across availability zones within a region. Scaleway Private Networks seamlessly integrates with other Scaleway services and simplifies the deployment of complex, multi-layer architectures. It provides robust security by isolating resources from the public internet and enabling secure communication between internal components.

Layer-2 Ethernet Network: Provides a secure and isolated virtual LAN for communication between resources. Managed DHCP: Automatically assigns IP addresses to connected resources, simplifying network management. High Bandwidth: Offers up to 4 Gbps of bandwidth between instances. Multiple Private Networks: Supports up to 8 private networks per instance, enabling flexible network segmentation. Scalability: Supports up to 512 instances per private network and up to 215 private networks per organization. Regional Availability: Available in multiple regions, including Paris, Amsterdam, and Warsaw, with multiple availability zones per region. QinQ Support: Enables VLAN tagging for advanced network segmentation (Instances only). Integration: Seamlessly integrates with other Scaleway products such as Instances, Elastic Metal, Managed Databases, Kubernetes Kapsule, Load Balancers, and Public Gateways.
