SPVIEW
SPVIEW is a user-friendly software for assigning and analyzing high-resolution molecular spectra with a graphical interface.
Description
SPVIEW is a Java and Fortran 77 based software designed for the analysis of high-resolution molecular spectra. It provides a graphical user interface for assigning spectral lines, enabling users to load experimental and simulated spectra from various sources (XY ASCII, HITRAN, TDS). The software facilitates the creation of peak lists from experimental data, allows manipulation of plots (zooming, rescaling, etc.), and supports interactive line assignment and unassignment using a mouse. It also enables local simulations within specific wavenumber ranges, making it a comprehensive tool for spectral analysis. SPVIEW is part of a larger suite of spectroscopic tools developed by the Dijon spectroscopy group.
Features
SPVIEW's key features include its graphical user interface for line assignment; its ability to load and process various spectral data formats (XY ASCII, HITRAN, TDS); the capacity to create peak lists from experimental spectra; options for manipulating plots; interactive line assignment and unassignment using a mouse; and the functionality for creating local simulations within user-defined wavenumber ranges. It is written using a combination of Java and Fortran 77 programming languages, ensuring its compatibility across different operating systems.
Benefits
SPVIEW offers significant advantages for researchers analyzing molecular spectra. The graphical interface simplifies the complex process of line assignment. Its ability to handle various data formats increases its versatility and allows seamless integration with other spectroscopic tools. Local simulation capabilities improve data interpretation and analysis. The software's user-friendly design accelerates workflow, and the availability of versions for Windows, macOS, and Linux enhances accessibility for a broader range of users. The ability to load experimental and simulated spectra provides a powerful tool for accurate spectral analysis.
