Description
SiPearl's Rhea1 is a sovereign high-performance computing (HPC) and AI inference processor designed as part of the European Processor Initiative (EPI) to equip European supercomputers with energy-efficient, domestically developed hardware. Manufactured at TSMC and scheduled for sampling in 2026, it integrates 80 Arm Neoverse V1 cores with Scalable Vector Extension units, built-in High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), DDR5 interfaces, and PCIe Gen5 lanes. Rhea1 aims to deliver exceptional computing power—surpassing 10 million laptops—while enhancing Europe's technological sovereignty in strategic sectors like security, defense, medical research, energy, and climate science, with a focus on reducing carbon footprint. It will power JUPITER, Europe's first exascale supercomputer capable of 1 billion billion calculations per second.
