Situation
Situation is an automated web application that maps information systems in 15 minutes to help organizations comply with NIS2 directives by providing real-time visibility across six ANSSI perspectives.
Description
Situation is a web application designed to help organizations comply with the NIS2 directive by providing automated, real-time mapping of their information systems. It addresses the challenge of manual mapping processes that typically take 6-12 months and quickly become outdated by deploying an autonomous agent that scans six technical layers (Physical, Logical, Application, Business, Admin, Ecosystem) in just 15 minutes. The application automatically constructs the ANSSI (French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems) mapping from six perspectives, offering immediate visibility into system components and their interconnections. It supports three deployment modes (SaaS, On-premise, Air-gapped) to accommodate various security requirements, from hosted instances to classified environments with no outgoing connections. By identifying gaps in system visibility across different perspectives, Situation enables organizations to meet NIS2's 20 security objectives, which rely heavily on comprehensive system mapping as a foundational requirement.
Features
- Autonomous agent deployment via a lightweight binary with no dependencies, collecting data from six technical layers without infrastructure changes
- Automatic construction of ANSSI mapping from six perspectives (Physical, Logical, Application, Business, Admin, Ecosystem)
- Three deployment modes: SaaS (hosted with automatic updates), On-premise (local database, agent autonomy), and Air-gapped (no outgoing connections, compatible with classified environments)
- Real-time system visibility with gap identification showing missing data percentages per perspective
- Compatibility with NIS2 requirements, addressing the limitations of static Excel inventories and ISO 27001/27002 standards
Benefits
- Reduces system mapping time from 6-12 months to just 15 minutes, enabling rapid compliance with NIS2 directives
- Provides comprehensive, real-time visibility into information systems across six ANSSI perspectives, helping secure what was previously unseen
- Identifies gaps and blind spots in system data immediately, allowing for targeted improvements in security posture
- Supports flexible deployment options to meet diverse security needs, from cloud-based SaaS to air-gapped classified environments
- Eliminates the maintenance burden of manual mapping processes, with automated updates and zero client-side maintenance in SaaS mode
- Helps organizations meet 20 NIS2 security objectives by establishing system mapping as a foundational, transversal prerequisite
